Our mission
Safehouse #Unmuzzled's mission is to drive focused cultural transformation amongst African-American charismatic christians that lends itself to a empathetic survivor-focused community safety and leader accountability beyond of the church's systems of government, for those who breech fiduciary responsibility and abuse their positions of power, trust, and authority.
Safehouse #Unmuzzled's vision is to realize a safe church culture that is known for it's support, protection, and defense of those without power in our churches and communities. In addition a culture that is known for an outspoken approach to holding leaders accountable by prioritizing victims and the vulnerable above reputations, brands, and offering baskets.
The purposes for which this corporation is organized are to promote social welfare within the meaning of section 501(c)4 of the Internal Revenue code, including but not limited to
- Developing and advocating for legislation, regulations, and government programs to protect, defend, and restore victims of gross clergy abuse
- Serving as advocates along side survivors of predatory clergy sexual misconduct in pursuing criminal and civil accountability
- Conducting research, publicizing findings, and leading marketing campaigns to expose patterns of unethical and abusive conduct by clergy members, and to publicize the positions of church officials, elected officials, and agencies concerning these issues.
